Welcome to HoHoGo. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide the core features of a travel journal and gamification experience, we collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: When you sign up via Email, Apple, or Google, we collect your email address, display name, and a chosen username.
• Location Data: We request access to your device’s location strictly while the app is in use. This is required to verify your presence at specific landmarks (Check-Ins). We do not track your location in the background.
• Photos and Media:
  • Local Scanning: Our app features a "Photo Scanner" that looks for past travel memories. This scanning process happens entirely locally on your device. We do not upload your entire photo library to our servers.
  • Uploaded Memories: We only upload photos to our secure servers when you explicitly choose to "Check-In" or "Save a Memory" to your public/private journal.
• Usage Data: We may collect anonymous diagnostic data (such as crash reports) to improve app stability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to provide and improve the app experience:

• To verify your travel achievements and award digital badges/titles.
• To host and display the travel journal entries you explicitly save.
• To manage our referral program.
• To authenticate your account across devices.

3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to run the app:

• Supabase: For secure database hosting, authentication, and photo storage.
• Apple / Google: For authentication services (if you choose to sign in via these methods).

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can delete your account and all associated data (including uploaded photos, travel logs, and earned badges) at any time by navigating to Settings > Danger Zone > Delete Account within the app. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our active servers.

5. Children's Privacy

Our application is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it immediately.
